Tammy Bowser wasn’t trying to launch a business—she just wanted a better coffee moment.
She was at a work event, eyeing the plain coffee setup (you know the one—basic drip, cream, sugar), when all she could think about was a Lavender Honey latte. “I started researching single-serve flavored syrups,” she says, “and when I didn’t find anything, I decided to make it myself.”

That tiny moment of craving turned into Sip Solo—a pocket-sized syrup brand built to give you the coffee, tea, or matcha you actually want, wherever you are.
The name is about those early morning rituals we all know well: the quiet moment, just you and that first sip. “It’s usually a solo moment,” Tammy says, “and you want it to taste just the way you like it.”
It’s more than just a convenient add-in. Every detail is intentional—from the single-use packets (a simple way to cut down on waste and avoid flavor commitment phobia) to the color-coded flavor cues. “We start with the packaging,” Tammy explains. “Pistachio Coconut is green and blue—green for pistachio, blue for the ocean vibes from coconut. It’s like a vacation in your cup.”
Lavender Honey still holds a special place—it’s the flavor that kicked things off. And while all the flavors are close to Tammy’s heart, this one’s the origin story.
One of the most surprising parts of her journey? The branding. “Sip Solo started with $500. People assume we used a big agency, but it was just me and a designer I found on Fiverr.” Proof that good ideas—and good design—don’t need a big budget, just belief and follow-through.
Tammy’s building Sip Solo one thoughtful step at a time. No rushing. “I want this to grow into more than just a product. That takes time, and I want to pace it right.” She’s already working on partnerships with hotels and other like-minded brands—anywhere someone might want to upgrade their coffee moment.

When she’s not building her brand, you’ll find her walking Austin’s trails, checking out the latest at Rosy’s Grocer, or grabbing a coffee at Two Hands on South Congress. She’s also growing her own herb garden (“fresh basil from the patio is just better”) and cooking more at home—her version of sustainability.
At Parker + Scott, we love when someone builds something out of a simple, relatable spark. Tammy saw a tiny gap and filled it with creativity, color, and care. It’s not just about syrup—it’s about giving people a way to make even the plainest cup feel a little more like them.
